Sizing information
From the animation on the right, choose the cube size into which your component would fit and then choose the level of detail that represents your component. From this you can get an estimate of the time required to scan your component.
As the size and complexity of the scan increases, the data files become very large and a great deal of computer processing time is required to generate the STL files - it is in circumstances such as these that it can be advantageous for us to have large components brought to our own premises. This can save time and money.
Once you have an estimate of the time involved, continue to our costs page to work out a ballpark price.
Low level detail
means smooth surfaces, large radius curves and shallow depth features.
Medium level detail
means smaller radius curves, lots of changes in direction, multiple sides
High level detail
means sharp corners, deep features, surface textures.
For components larger than 800 mm cube, please call or drop us an e-mail. Items up to the size of a car can be economically scanned. Items smaller than a tea-cup are difficult but not impossible, please ask.
